Turning is a machining technique where material is removed by spinning the part around and taking material away with a linear moving cutting tool to create round or cylindrical parts. Inno-Plast uses state of the art CNC Lathes to manufacture plastic parts with great quality and high accuracy.
Turning plastics is very different from Turning metal. Factors like clamping pressure, cutting speeds, Coefficient of thermal expansion and even the behaviour under different levels of humidity are just a few examples where each plastic has its own characteristics and preferred way of turning. Thanks to our highly capable team with over 200 combined years of experience in machining plastic parts for demanding industries like automotive and aerospace, we have the Knowledge to successfully turn parts up to micron levels of accuracy.
Thanks to one of our latest investments in CAM software (Autodesk Fusion 360), we are now able to program complex parts faster and easier without sacrificing our quality, reducing lead times and improving cost efficiency. On some of our newer lathes it is also possible to do milling operations combined with turning operations, saving time and reducing the amount of operations needed to finish the part. Depending on the size of the order and the frequency that a specific part returns it is possible to optimize the milling operation to become a semi- or even a fully automated process. Making producing large quantities of the same part cost efficient in the long run.
