Milling is a machining technique where material is removed to create a part in a desired shape and geometry. Milling is a cutting process that uses a rotating cutting tool to remove material on a often stationary work piece. Inno-Plast uses state of the art CNC milling machines to manufacture plastic parts with great quality and high accuracy.
Milling plastics is very different from milling metal. Factors like clamping pressure, milling feeds, cutting speeds, Coefficient of thermal expansion and even the behaviour under different levels of humidity are just a few examples where each plastic has its own characteristics and preferred way of milling. Knowledge of these plastics is needed to successfully machine them up to micron levels of accuracy.
Thanks to one of our latest investments in CAM software (Autodesk Fusion 360), we are now able to program complex parts faster and easier without sacrificing our quality, reducing lead times and improving cost efficiency. Depending on the complexity of the part we also have the option to go from 3-axis to 4-axis milling, further improving cycle time and reducing the amount of operations needed to finish the part. Depending on the size of the order and the frequency that a specific part returns it is possible to optimize the milling operation to become a semi- or even a fully automated process. Making producing large quantities of the same part cost efficient in the long run.
Since 1989 we have a tradition in supplying prototypes in short notice but also large series with stringent quality requirements.
Our goal is to provide our customers with quality products that reduce the life cycle costs and improve productivity.
Our company complies to the highest standards of quality control, we are ISO 9001 and EN 9100 certified.
